Why was the Katy Church founded?

One day in the early 1990’s, I was on my knees crying out to God for revival to come to my church. A longing to see Spiritual Awakening was growing in my heart.

Suddenly, I strongly felt the Spirit of God say to me (not audibly), “Is it OK with you if I begin with the Episcopal church? Or the First Methodist church? What about Memorial Lutheran?”

I was shocked to be reminded that God was not concerned only with First Baptist Church, Katy! If true revival was to come to our area, the Spirit would overflow and touch all of God’s People!

During those days, The Lord sent Youth Pastor Tim Barker of the Apostolic Church in Katy, saying he wanted us to gather with other pastors to pray for our city. Soon, we had 15 to 20 pastors and Ministry Leaders gathering weekly to pray for one another, our churches and our city. The timing was perfect; it was A GOD THING!”

On behalf of THE KATY CHURCH, I welcome you, One of the prayers we lift to the Lord on a regular basis is that He will send more life-giving churches and ministries to Katy to help us reach this growing area with the good news of Jesus Christ. Please know that we will pray and work with you in any way we can to facilitate the fulfillment of God’s purposes for you and your church.

We meet each Wednesday for prayer from noon until 1pm.

We’d love to have you join us any time you can. Our purpose is to pray for one another and to pray for spiritual transformation to come to our city.

You don’t “join” the Katy Church; we are very loosely organized and voluntarily come together for mutual support and prayer for the city.
